SAM ALVARADO
Sam is Mainstream's bass guitar player and one of the vocalists.

Sam was born in 1958 in East Los Angeles, CA. His father started teaching him guitar when Sam was eight years old.
Sam's family moved to the Pasadena, CA area shortly thereafter. By the time he was in junior high school he was playing in the first band.

When Sam was 14 years old he started playing (learning) bass guitar. He joined his first country music band when he was 16 years old.
Over the course of the next several years Sam played in bands of every stripe; country, disco, rock and Gospel, and toured clubs in Los Angeles and Orange counties and Bakersfield in California.
Sam moved his family to the High Desert in 1987 and played in a number of country bands over the next several years.
Sam was one of the people there at the inception of the band that became Mainstream.
Sam works for the City of Victorville, in the Traffic Control Division as a sign-maker.
