Sound Systems:
MainStream can work with your sound engineers or provide its own PA system. MainStream can put close to 10,000 watts of very clean sound through its front-of-house system if necessary.
Power Requirements:
Most performances can be accommodated by standard US single phase 20 amp, 120 volt AC, 60 cycle power. If your venue is very large, or competing with a lot of noise near the stage, we may need 2 of these circuits to provide the best equipment performance.
Small venues like clubs will probably require a couple of 15 amp circuits or one 20 amp circuit.
The farther we are from the power source, the more power we will need to make up for line losses. MainStream has over 100 feet of 12 gauge extension cables, but we still prefer to be within 15 to 20 feet of the power source for best results.
MainStream does not provide generators. If you are using a generator to provide power to the stage, please be sure that it is providing only single phase 120 volts AC and not 240 volts! (Yes, we have actually blown every fuse on the stage from this cause.)
MainStream conditions most of its power, but sometimes we still have noise issues if there are a lot of neon lights, chillers, fans, etc. on the same circuit.
Sometimes the circuit breakers will pop off if the band is playing and the beer truck or stadium lights fire up on the same circuit. If this happens, assuming there is no damage to our equipment, it may take us a while to get the digital equipment back online.
Stage Size:
MainStream can fit onto almost any size stage. However, the drum kit by itself needs about an 8X8 foot space to accommodate the drums, cymbals, monitors, etc.Aside from that, if we can get a few feet on both sides and a couple feet in front of the riser we will be OK.
Shelters:
If it is raining, the wind is blowing over 10 mph, or the sun is intense, equipment can be damaged and so can the band members! We have played in 110F, and we have played in the rain, but a shelter makes it a LOT easier. If you think that we will need one, and you don’t have one over the stage, please let us know and we will bring something with us.
Parking:
Typically MainStream will arrive in 3 vehicles; a standard sized pickup, an SUV towing a 10 foot trailer, and a compact car. Please tell us where you would like us to unload the equipment, and where you would like us to park the vehicles during the gig.
Ordinarily, MainStream will arrive a couple hours before the performance to set up and do a sound check. If you require us to arrive earlier than that, and/or the vehicles moved away from the area of the stage, please let us know so we can get it on our schedule. If you require the vehicles be moved away from the stage 3 hours or more prior to the performance we will have to adjust our rate to cover our standby time. |
